MatLab

There is a nice Matlab Primer by Kermit Sigmon, Department of Mathematics, University of Florida. The purpose of the Primer is to help you begin to use MATLAB. You are encouraged to work at the computer as you read the Primer and freely experiment with examples.

To Start Matlab on the NT network on the StatLab workstations:
Click at the Matlab Icon in the Applications folder.
To Start Matlab on the Pantheon machines
  • Interactive Mode:
    Enter matlab at the % prompt.
  • Batch Mode:
    Enter matlab < myprog.m > myprog.out & , where the code is stored in the file myprog.m and the output is saved in the (new) file myprog.out .
On-line Introduction
Enter intro at the Matlab >> prompt.
