SPSS FAQ

Why can't I read in all the variables of my large ASCII dataset

Reading in ASCII data with File > Read only works when the length of a line is LESS than 1024. For datasets with longer records, you have to use SPSS syntax:

How can I get my output to print on fewer pages and save paper?

Results of analysis in SPSS 8.0 will bring up an SPSS OUTPUT NAVIGATOR window.  The left box shows an outline of the output, including titles, notes, and statistics.  There are several options for printing from SPSS that consolidate output and save paper.  The following are available from the SPSS OUTPUT NAVIGATOR window. These options may be combined to consolidate output even further.
